Helpful - A Scout cares about other people. He willingly volunteers to help others without expecting payment or reward.

Details:

Space Derby
  • Space Derby is a fun, non-competitive event.  Scouts should bring their completed rockets and be prepared to have fun and practice their "Do Your Best" cub scout attitude.
  • Not all rockets will make it through the evening unscathed, and we'll have a Space Pit Garage to do simple repairs.
  • Scouts can work to improve their performance through the evening.  Older scouts with experience may be helpful for those new to the event.
  • Volunteers are needed:
    • Help inspect and load the space derby tracks into a trailer on October 31 or November 1
    • Help setup at 5PM on event day
    • Help take down and load the tracks onto the trailer after the event
    • Help unload the tracks back into the pack storage
Popcorn Celebration
  • Our Popcorn Sale has ended, and we'll celebrate the results together.  We'll announce the winning den and recognize the pack's top sellers.
  • We'll reveal the fate that the top selling scouts voted for their cubmaster.  Will I eat a bug?  Get my hair dyed crazy colors? Eat dog food?  You'll know soon!
  • We'll thank everyone involved in the sale.  Proceeds from popcorn make our year of scouting fun possible.
Scouting for Food Kickoff
  • Neighborhood food drive to benefit OUR Center
  • Distribute bags with flyers in neighborhoods November 6-15
  • Collect food Saturday, November 21
  • Begin preparing bags for the effort during the Space Derby
  • Sign-up for bag distribution and food collection dates
  • Great way to work on being Helpful scouts!
