Rules: MV-IP-Pinewood Derby Rules and Guidelines 2016
Check-In: Friday, February 5, 7-8:30 PM, Hygiene United Methodist Church
Cars will be inspected and judged for craftsmanship at several stations:
Standard Kit Used
Weight <= 5 oz.
Dimensions
Wheels Unmodified
4 Wheels Roll
No loose accessories
Boy-Built
Take a picture of your scout (or sibling) with his (or her) car in front of the track!
A car adjustment station will be provided with a small sampling of tools in case minor repairs or weight adjustments are needed.
Bring your graphite for a last minute wheel lubrication if desired. A box over a tarp will contain the mess.
Race-Day: Saturday, February 6, 8 AM-2 PM, Hygiene United Methodist Church
Expected schedule (Please be flexible if we have race-day challenges!):
8:00 - 8:45 - Late check-in--no craftsmanship judging
8:45 - 9:00 - Deep Breaths!
9:00 - 9:30 - Tiger Den Race
9:30 - 10:15 - Wolf Den Race
10:15 - 10:45 - Bear Den Race
10:45 - 11:15 - Webelos Den Race
11:15 - 11:45 - AOL Den Race
11:45 - 12:15 - Open Race (Siblings, Parents)
12:15 - 1:00 - Lunch (Pizza $1/slice, Water Bottles $1)
1:00 - 1:30 - Pack Finals with top 3 from each den!
1:30 - 1:45 - Den and Pack Awards
Patches and personalized ribbons will be distributed to each racer at the den-level races.
The top finisher in each den can enter the district derby in May (see below). The pack will cover the cost for those scouts.
All other scouts, siblings, parents, etc., can enter cars in the open class district derby.
District Derby - May 6-7 - Calvary Bible Chapel, Erie
